　　杨帆的航船，
　　an opening flower,

) y; C* F: B/ [* X　　a town at night,
6 B6 |, J, H0 y+ C/ f　　夜幕中的小镇，
( D; P: N" x1 B* N# q- }　　the song of the blackbird,
　　优美的诗行，
  [2 k+ e, I: d' Q, n, D　　a lovely poem,
2 H( S9 j5 ^3 F/ c0 u. g9 C　　可爱的诗人
　　leaf shadows,
　　婆娑的树影，
　　a child’s grace,

　　the starry skies,
　　漫天的繁星

　　一道潺潺流水，
　　a butterfly,

% b/ l" w$ W# O% v. n　　the thousand sights or sounds or words
$ P8 ?# d) o, `$ S　　that evoke in us the thought of beauty —
　　这些使我们潜生美感的万千景象，音籁和词句
　　these are the drops of rain
　　that keep the human spirit from death by drought.
　　仿佛雨露般滋润着我们干涸的心田。
* w7 i/ I6 X$ e) f1 T　　They are a stealing and silent refreshment
　　它们悄然而来
　　that we perhaps do not think about,
7 A0 H' e. N6 r% e* w2 x　　在我们不经意中荡涤尘寰
　　but which goes on all the time.
　　绵延不断
9 _  ~) o& B+ Q2 D　　Beauty is the smile on the earth’s face,
8 X! C& K1 a1 j* @5 M& E　　美是大地的笑容，
　　open to all, and needs but the eyes to see,
　　the mood to understand.
